Reglan and Tardive Dyskinesia

Has your health been damaged by taking a dangerous prescription drug? Dangerous drugs are those that have dangerous side effects or cause health complications, injury or even death in patients who take them as prescribed. In these cases, they are considered to be defective because their side effects outweigh any benefits. Often, drug companies have failed to warn of the serious side effects of their drugs. Sometimes these deadly drugs are inappropriate for certain people, and the danger is not revealed to the general public until someone is seriously injured.

If you or someone you love has been harmed by the use of a prescription drug, you may be entitled to financial compensation for damages. You should discuss your situation with the Washington DC / Maryland / Virginia dangerous drug attorney at the Garrow Law Firm in a free, initial consultation. Our firm fights for the rights of those injured by negligence.

In the case of dangerous drugs, that negligence comes at the hands of large pharmaceutical companies who sometimes are driven by corporate greed at the expense of individuals. Sometimes even your doctors are not told the truth about these dangerous drugs. BUT SOMETIMES, IT'S THE DOCTOR'S FAULT FOR NOT FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS IN PRESCRIBING A DANGEROUS DRUG REGLAN - A Dangerous Drug Case --- If Taken Too Long Recently published studies have found that Reglan (Metoclopramide) is the most common cause of drug-induced "movement" disorders. Such movement disorders are generally referred to as: Tardive Dyskinesia Symptoms include: Unusual facial grimacing and awkward head movements Involuntary movements of the jaw, tongue, or lips Rapid, involuntary movements of the hands, fingers, arms, legs, trunk, and shoulders Rapid eye blinking Additional FDA analysis of the studies on this drug showed that approximately 20 percent of patients who used Metoclopramide took it for longer than the recommended time period. This drug should NOT be taken longer than 8 to 12 WEEKS MAX!!!! The drug manufacturer has warned consumers about these potential problems in their "black box" warning since 2009.

NOTE: WE WILL REVIEW CASES AGAINST DOCTORS WHO HAVE PRESCRIBED THIS DRUG TO THEIR PATIENTS AND KEPT THEM ON THE DRUG FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME --- 12 MONTHS, or YEARS --- CAUSING THE HORRIBLE AND GENERALLY UNTREATABLE SYMPTOMS LISTED ABOVE.
